Duties and Responsibilities: Court Interpretation/Translation: • Provide accurate and impartial interpretation and translation of spoken and written communications from Russian to English and vice versa in a variety of legal settings, including testimony, proceedings, and legal documents, between two or more parties who speak different languages.• Ensure accurate and impartial interpretation and translation of all communications from Russian to English and vice versa, to facilitate understanding and legal proceedings. • Compile terminology and information to be used in interpretations and translations, including technical terms such as those for legal material. • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and neutrality throughout all interpretation and translation services. • Adhere to professional ethics and standards for court interpreters. Document Interpretation/Translation:• Translate written materials from Russian to English and vice versa while preserving meaning, tone, and style. • Review and edit translations for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to project guidelines. • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure the correct terminology is used in translations. • Utilize translation memory tools and glossaries to enhance translation efficiency and consistency. • Maintain deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring the highest quality standards.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Education: Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Foreign Languages, Linguistics, or any related field.
Experience: Must have at least 24 months of work experience as an English-Russian Interpreter or Translator.
OTHER SPECIAL SKILLS OR REQUIREMENTS: Must be fluent in at least two languages, including English and Russian; Must have the skills and knowledge in interpreting and translating information accurately and impartially from Russian to English and vice versa; and Must have knowledge of legal terminology and court proceedings.
